Quality white nail polishes are difficult to find. Most of the white polishes I’ve tried are either streaky, take 5011 coats to reach opacity, and/ or end up looking really cheap, like you took a bottle of White Out to your nails. I used to do that all the time in middle school and that’s a look I’m quite comfortable leaving in 1999 where it belongs along with belly shirts and baby tees. Marshmallow caught me eye and I decided to give it a try although I had previously tried it’s cousin Blanc and was fairly disappointed. Marshmallow it turns out could very well be the white polish I’ve been searching for all along.
Upon first glance, Marshmallow reminds me of OPI Alpine Snow except Alpine Snow is more opaque right out of the bottle whereas with Marshmallow you have to build for opacity. I had to apply three coats to reach full opacity and bottle color however the polish was very easy to work with. Marshmallow went on very smooth & even, not clumpy or streaky like white polishes tend to be. The only thing I can honestly say I dislike about Marshmallow is that my fingertips are still very visible, a peeve of mine as you all know. Also it could stand to be just a smidge more opaque however with what I’ve had to work with, this color leaves me feeling pretty satisfied!
