October has been a wonky month. With moving, an unplanned trip to New Hampshire, redirected packages, and being busier at work, I haven’t been able to review my Birchbox or blog the way I want to. Things have finally slowed down so I’m here to unpack October’s box. Lets get to it shall we!
beautyblender and deluxe solid cleanser
I have had my eye on this beauty blender forever and Birchbox sends it my way just as I was about to give in and buy it! Normally I apply my foundation with my fingers and that has been doing the job just fine, plus I like for the foundation to warm up a little bit. With the beautyblender it doesn’t get that moment to warm up but the end result is still the same as using my fingers to apply foundation and has only gotten better as I’ve gotten a handle on how to use it. An added bonus? They threw in a cleanser for the sponge which has helped to keep it clean and being a germaphobe this is a major plus!
Camille Beckman Tuscan Honey Glycerine Hand Therapy
This hand cream is thick and smells so luscious. As far as performance, it is a great cream and does what it’s supposed to however what won me over was the packaging. It’s so cute!
dr. brandt pores no more vacuum cleaner
This cleaner is geared towards unclogging pores to reduce blackheads but I don’t really have that issue so I can’t speak to the performance of the product, at least for it’s intended purpose. I saw what I thought might have been some trouble spots about a week and a half ago so I put this on after doing my regular nighttime cleansing routine. The next day those areas looked and felt a lot better and no pimples so I’d say it is effective.
Harvey Prince Petaly Noir
This is the third Harvey Prince fragrance I’ve gotten in my Birchbox and I feel each one is better than the one before it! Petaly Noir is a floral scent with hints of jasmine, orchid, lily of the valley, my mom’s favorite flower, and vanilla. I love how sultry this perfume is and I feel like it’s perfect for this time of year.
Lord & Berry Paillettes Glitter Eye Pencil in Black
Last but certainly not least is this pretty glittery eyeliner. I have one just like it from Sephora however it’s a bit dried out so this came at the right time! I’ll have to buy a sharpener though, most of my eyeliners are retractable so I’ve never needed a sharpener. They’re so old school and bring back memories of my mom’s eyeliner pencil shavings on the bathroom counter. Ahhh the 90s. Her pencils were always the blackest of black which is where I guess I get that from!
Overall I’d say this box was a hit, if nothing else it was definitely because of the inclusion of the beautyblender!
